HAWK NELSON ROCKS PARTY WITH FAITH NIGHTS!

Hawk Nelson, the pop-punk quartet from Canada, is sliding into home with a new initiative to bring the Gospel to people who may hesitate to step into a church. The event is called Faith Nights with Hawk Nelson. In conjunction with Third Coast Sports, Premier Productions will be promoting concerts with Hawk Nelson at 12 minor league baseball games this summer. Special guests include The Send and appearances by Bob and Larry of VeggieTales.

Faith Nights began in the early 2000s with the Nashville Sounds as an outreach opportunity for local churches in the Nashville area, said Courtney Baker, vice president of Third Coast Sports. In 2005, Third Coast Sports ( www.thirdcoastsports.com) took the idea to other Bible-belt cities. In 2006, they expanded to the West Coast, including a major-league event with the Atlanta Braves. After dozens of articles in national publications and television shows, the group is organizing 60 events with contemporary Christian bands across the nation this year.

“Our hope is that local Christians in these communities will reach out to their friends who may not be comfortable going into a church, but would come out to the ballpark or field,” Baker said.

Releasing their second album, “Smile, It’s the End of the World” this month with such great single releases as “Zero,” “The One Thing I Have Left,” and “The Show,” Hawk Nelson is sure to deliver the game’s first home run. Exploding on the Christian music scene in 2004 with their “Letters to the President” debut album, the band keeps their idealism, high energy and hard-work ethic.

For $15 per person, guests get a concert, brief testimony by one of the team players and a baseball game. All that’s missing are the hot dogs and peanuts, but the concession stand will supply those, too!
